Drop Out Ceiling Tiles

Drop Out Ceiling Tiles, sometimes called "melt-out ceiling tiles", are heat sensitive and fall from the dropped ceiling suspension grid in the event of a fire, allowing the fire sprinklers to do their job. Per National Fire Protection Association 13 section 3.3.9, "A drop-out ceiling allows the installation of a false ceiling beneath an existing sprinkler system. Drop-out ceilings provide an alternative to relocating sprinklers beneath a new ceiling. Drop-out ceilings are evaluated to verify that they do not contribute to fire growth and that they do not significantly delay the operation of the sprinkler system".
